When István, the young cellist goes on stage, many in Europe know by now, what to expect. "Magic" confess even his professors silently.

Apart from the audience's delight, the magic was honoured with several prestigious international prizes: in 2008 he won the first prize, the audience prize, the Pierre Fournier Prize and the Coup de Coeur Breguet Prize  at the Geneva International Music Competition, in 2007 István took the third prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition, Moscow, received a special prize by International Tchaikovsky Charity Fund, won the first prize of the David Popper International Music Competition three times, in 2006 he was awarded the special prize of the Emanuel Feuermann Cello Competition at the Kronberg Academy, Berlin, and the first prize of the 13th International Brahms Competition in Austria.

Since his début concert in 1998, in The Hague, Holland, he has performed in London, Florence, Kobe, Frankfurt, Moscow and Munich with great success. From 2004 István studies at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest (Professor: László Mező), and from 2005 he is a student of the Music Academy of Vienna (Professor: Reinhard Latzko). In the past years he took the master classes of Natalia Gutman, Natalia Shakhovskaya and János Starker.
