A bust of Franz Liszt was unveiled in Beijing's National Centre for Performing Arts on Saturday evening to mark the birth bicentenary of the great Hungarian composer.

The bust, a work by Yuan Xikun, depicts the ageing composer and his right hand.

Addressing the unveiling ceremony, Hungarian Ambassador Sandor Kusai praised the eminent Chinese sculptor who "could represent the sound of the piano in three dimensions". The ceremony was followed by a concert of Chinese piano virtuoso Li Yundi.
