Zubin Mehta has been conducting the world's leading orchestras for half a century and is still going strong. He has been director of the Orchestra of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentina since 1985. On the occasion of his 70th birthday he was made honorary conductor for life. The conductor who was recently awarded the Yehudi Menuhin Prize (presented by Queen Sofia of Spain) is also very active in public life. He has published an autobiography "The Score of My Life" on his exceptionally rich and many-sided life.
