The ninth Museums' night will involve some 2,000 events in 277 museums, state secretary in charge of culture Geza Szocs said on Tuesday. The event has been split over two Saturdays this year in order to make sure that people are not forced to choose between Budapest museums and those outside the capital, he added. The ministry will assess the results of this year's Museums' night and decide whether to keep the event divided on two different Saturdays in 2012, Szocs said.
This year's event is expected to attract 480,000 visitors. Smartphone users can download a museum-tailored application with useful information. Further details are available in English at www.muzeumokejszakaja.hu.
Hungary's first Radio and Television History Museum will open its doors to the public in Budapest on June 24.
